Dennis Karl
Although firefighter Dennis Karl has been a Fill the
Boot coordinator since 2001-2002, his most
indelible experience occurred last year.
"We raised more money than ever before."

There was an unusual instance when "someone
put $500.00 into the boot. He gave no indication
that he was giving such a generous amount. He
just put it in the boot like everyone else."

Dennis Karl has a kaleidoscope of activities.
Besides being executive secretary to the union,
he became involved with Fill the Boot because he
noticed, that it was a charity event, that firefighters
were involved in to raise the quality of life for our
community.

As a coordinator, he recruits, solves safety issues,
and acquires correct signage for the Fill the Boot
stations. For much of the organizing, he meets with
the union representative to construct the best
Fill the Boot.

On the big day, you can see Dennis at all the
stations. He's, the man with the checklist, assuring
that everything is going great!

What does he like to do for fun? "Hiking."
