Come Morning
|
Gently, pulling on the frayed cord, Lynn opened the beige apartment drapes
allowing light to streak across the cocoa brown carpet littered with cracker crumbs,
newspapers, and wads of Kleenex to the overstuffed chair resembling a giant sponge.
There Harold Jordan slumped deep into the corduroy cushions
with his rose fedora sloped over his warm, snoozing eyelids.
Beneath the hat, the broad expanse of his ebony face, that matched the
squattiness of his body,
seemed to yearn for something more.

Constructing a Positive Image of an Organization
|
When organizations use their expertise to improve the environment,
the organizations display leadership. For instance, American International Group,
an insurance and finance organization, demonstrates their leadership in
finance by using their expertise to propose a plan to clean up hazardous waste
sites which some industrial and commercial companies have caused.
Instead of having the offending companies finance the cleaning up of
hazardous waste sties, American International Group proposed all commercial and
industrial companies in the United States could pay two percent of their insurance
premiums to a National Environmental Trust Fund. Therefore, the offending
businesses could continue to be productive in serving society. From proposing
the plan, American International Group is established as an innovator
that businesses can rely on to discover new ideas and solutions.
